Radiesse

Understanding a calcium hydroxylapatite product and what choosing it means for an individual treatment plan.

Arrange a consultation (opens in a new tab)

Radiesse is an injectable material containing calcium hydroxylapatite particles, known as CaHA, in a gel. It is different from hyaluronic acid. Before choosing it, the intended use, treatment area and limitations of its composition need to be understood.

Who is the consultation for?

For adults exploring whether a CaHA product belongs in an aesthetic plan. Suitability depends on the area, tissue, medical history and any previously injected fillers.

How is this option assessed?

Examination and medical history are followed by a discussion of why Radiesse might be considered, alternatives and risks. Product selection and use depend on the indication and individual assessment, with an explanation of follow-up instructions.

What should you discuss?

  • Radiesse and hyaluronic acid should not be treated as identical or interchangeable materials.
  • Mention significant allergies, bleeding disorders, medicines and local infection or inflammation.
  • Tell healthcare professionals about CaHA injections, including before relevant imaging is interpreted.

Limitations & risks

Swelling, pain, bruising, lumps, infection or inflammation may occur. Injection into a blood vessel can cause tissue injury, vision loss or stroke. Dissolving or reversing treatment cannot be promised. The cited manufacturer information does not establish safety or effectiveness in the lips or around the eyes.

Is Radiesse hyaluronic acid?

No. It contains CaHA in a gel. This different composition matters when selecting an area, planning treatment and discussing how complications would be managed.

Can I assume it can be dissolved?

No. Assumptions about hyaluronic acid do not apply to Radiesse. Options for addressing the material or a complication belong in the medical discussion before a decision.
